Beginner's Guide

This is a guide containing a few tips and suggestions to help new players speed up their progression and get them on their way.

Did you know, War of Legends is being published, but not developed by Jagex Ltd? Ultizen, the China-based developer Jagex claims to have worked with before, is developing War of Legends. This is the first time that Jagex is not developing a game that they're publishing. Jagex has indicated that in the future they may be interested in publishing other games that other developers have created. War of Legends is also the first Flash-based game published by Jagex. All of Jagex's existing games are based on Java, apart from the iPhone port of Bounce down, which is written in Objective-C.

18 May 2010 - Puzzle and Enigma Boxes - Available for 24 hours!

22 April 2010 - A new server, Rising Phoenix is now online.
09 April 2010 - Jagex emails players that beta is official over.
31 March 2010 - Beta is officially over. Players are rewarded for participating.
30 March 2010 - Various bugs are fixed. Bonus chests are given to those that purchase JCredits.
29 March 2010 - A new server, Black Dragon is released.
26 March 2010 - Double JCredit top-up sale.
15 March 2010 - A new server, King's Destiny is released.
1 March 2010 - 1 JCredit item sales begin.
11 February 2010 - Events and sales announced to make the year of the tiger.
11 February 2010 - Jagex promises that beta is over and servers won't be rolled back.
9 February 2010 - Red Dragon server is removed and JCredit purchasers refunded.
3 February 2010 - Jagex emails a short newsletter inviting people to play WoL.
2 February 2010 - All servers are up.
1 February 2010 - Royal Garden is offline for many hours.
27 January 2010 - Red Dragon was offline for a few minutes for unknown reasons. All servers are working now.
22 January 2010 - There are multiple servers now: Royal Garden, Red Dragon, Imperial Palace, Emerald Paradise, and Golden Temple. WoL is taken offline for "maintenance" and put back after hours with this message, "We will have to reset these servers periodically during the remainder of the beta. Therefore, we have disabled the ability for players to purchase further JCredits. Players who have previously purchased JCredits will be refunded and all participants in the Beta programme will be given complimentary JCredits."

21 January 2010 - WoL got rolled back and all accounts cleared today. WoL is online.
